Mickey Mitchell is a four-star freshman forward for the Ohio State Buckeyes and has not been cleared to play by the NCAA. It is a situation to keep an eye on with the season set to get going.
Mickey Mitchell of @OhioStateHoops has not been cleared by NCAA Eligibility Center…can practice but not compete until issue resolved.

Obviously the fact that he is allowed to practice with the team is a good thing for Thad Matta and the Buckeyes. They can at the very least get him ready to play with the team and used to the guys on the roster. He will not have a “huge” role with the team this year, but was expected to come off the bench to play.
Mitchell is a 6-foot-7 and 220-pound big man out of Texas and is expected to develop into a very solid player for the Buckeyes.
More updates will be coming in the near future and we will make sure to bring them to you. Ohio State has to be concerned about his status right now, but hopefully things will get figured out and he will be ready to get on the court to start the season.
Ohio State will tip off their season against Mount St. Mary’s on November 15th at 12:00 p.m. ET.
