The Texas Longhorns have had a pretty disappointing season so far this year. After starting off 1-4, it looked like the team could turn things around with an upset win over Oklahoma.
Last Saturday, however, the team fell to Iowa State, 24-0, and it looks like the team could be missing out on a bowl game for the first time since 2010. Some fans have already turned their backs on the Longhorns, but there a few that are still faithful.
The Longhorns face off against the lowly Kansas Jayhawks this Saturday and it seems like a give that Charlie Strong’s club will come away with a victory. One fan made a “Zero Dark Thirty” inspired video that implies that the Longhorns aren’t dead yet and still have a shot of turning things around this year.
The video features audio from a famous scene in the movie where Mark Strong’s character gives a chilling speech. You can read the entire speech from the movie below.
“I want to make something absolutely clear. If you thought there was some secret cell somewhere working al-Qaeda, I want you to know that you are wrong! This is it. There’s no working group coming to the rescue. There’s nobody else hidden away on some other floor. This is just us. And we are FAILING. We’re spending billions of dollars. People are dying. We’re still no closer to defeating our enemy. They attacked us on land in ’98, by sea in 2000, and from the air in 2001. They murdered three thousand of our citizens in cold blood, they’ve slaughtered our forward deployed. And what the (expletive) have we done about it? What have we done? We have twenty leadership names and we’ve only eliminated four of them. I want targets! Do your (expletive) jobs! Bring me people to kill!”
The Longhorns and Jayhawks take the field at 7 p.m. at Darrell K. Royal Texas-Memorial Stadium on Saturday. This hype video should have any fan ready for the game.
