The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were slotted as the No. 5 team in the country in Tuesday night’s College Football Playoff rankings. The team is looking to build on their impressive season, with their only loss being a two-point deficit to the new No. 1 team in the country, Clemson, and possibly make it very hard for the selection committee to pass them up on a spot in the Playoff.
The team plays the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday at Heinz Field where the Fighting Irish have been 0-2 in their last two trips. Pittsburgh wide receiver Tyler Boyd is very motivated and would love to put another notch on the Irish’s loss column.
Boyd: “When you see Notre Dame on your schedule, that’s the only team you really want to beat for sure, even if you’re 1-11."

While it is nice for Boyd to feel so strongly about wanting to pull the upset, he may want to look at what happened last week. The Panthers lost to North Carolina which is going to make it very difficult for the team to win the ACC Coastal division and play for a conference championship.
Beating Notre Dame would certainly be good for the Panthers, but their ultimate goal is to win a conference championship. The game is scheduled for noon on Saturday and will be televised on ABC.
