Stanford loses expected starting PG for season

Robert Cartwright was expected to be the starting point guard for the Stanford Cardinal after Chasson Randle left to play overseas earlier this year. The team is now going to have to find another player to fill in that position.

According to College Basketball Talk, Cartwright will miss the entire 2015-16 season after suffering a compound fracture in his right arm. Cartwright is the fourth Cardinal player to go down with an injury ahead of the season.

The Cardinal are looking to build off their 2015 NIT championship, but losing four players, especially one as important as Cartwright, will certainly damage their campaign. Senior Christian Sanders and sophomore Darren Pickens are the two available perimeter players to fill in for the early stages of the season as the team deals with these injuries.

The Cardinal open their season on November 13 when they host Green Bay.
