The Michigan State Spartans took a big blow Saturday night after they lost to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, dropping them into a tie for second place with Michigan in the Big Ten East division. Since they already beat the Wolverines this year, they hold a tiebreaker, however, they have to play the Ohio State Buckeyes still and that game could decide the division.
The Wolverines and their fans never want to admit that they are rooting for the Buckeyes, but if they want a shot at winning the division, they will have to do just that. However, Michigan tight end Jake Butt tweeted out that he was the Buckeyes’ number one fan after the Spartans lost.
He later deleted the tweet and his brother took the blame. He said that the tweet was meant to come from his phone and he played a joke on Jake by doing so from his.
At least big brother seemed to take the joke in stride.
The Spartans and Buckeyes meet on November 21, one week before the Wolverines host the defending national champions. If the Buckeyes beat Michigan State and Michigan does the same to Ohio State the following week, then Butt’s team would win the division on a head-to-head tiebreaker.
This is going to be a fun ride.
