Missouri releases statement on players’ boycott

Late Saturday night, black members of the Missouri football team announced they would be joining graduate student Jonathan Butler’s protest against the university and their president Tim Wolfe. The players said they would boycott all football activities until Wolfe is removed from his position.

According to College Spun, Missouri has released a statement on the boycott. Spokesperson Chad Moller said that the school is aware of the situation and they must work together to work through it.

This situation is certainly going to get uglier before it gets any better. The university must realize that the players are likely serious in their efforts to get Wolfe removed.
