Former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress is a proud Michigan State alum, so it’s understandable that he was visibly frustrated after the Spartans lost to Nebraska on a final seconds touchdown last night that was not without controversy, especially since receiver Brandon Reilly appeared to be out of bounds before coming back in bounds and making the winning catch.
Of course, in a series of tweets that blasted the refs and NCAA, Burress went quite overboard. WARNING: LANGUAGE BELOW MAY BE NSFW
Wow, Plax. Tell us how you REALLY feel.
Look, I get it. Watching your team blow a game sucks. There’s no way to sugarcoat it. But the referees yesterday determined that Reilly was forced out of bounds rather than stepped out willingly, thus the catch was OK.
Hopefully, Burress doesn’t face any major backlash over this and can find a way to enjoy the rest of the season despite Michigan State’s national title hopes being dead in the water.
