The Michigan State Spartans suffered a heartbreaking and controversial loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday night on a last-second touchdown to knock them from the ranks of the unbeaten. The Spartans still have a chance to make the Big Ten championship game and one star player knows they must keep their heads in the game.
Star defensive tackle Shilique Calhoun sent words of encouragement to the Spartan fans, his teammates, and it could be said to himself as well. He knows what it takes to lead a team and he wants them to know that their season is far from over.
Calhoun is one of the top defensive linemen in the nation and him showing his ability to bounce back from a big loss is a trait that NFL scouts will surely cherish once he gets to the Draft next April. He should be able to come out and lead the team for the remainder of the season and possibly win the conference championship.
The Spartans play the Maryland Terrapins next Saturday at home.
