Teddy Bridgewater knocked out after being hit while sliding

The Minnesota Vikings are leading the St. Louis Rams in the fourth quarter, 18-15. They were looking to add to their lead as they were driving down the field.

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater scrambled for a first down and slid down. While sliding, Rams defensive back Lamarcus Joyner came in and leveled Bridgewater on a scary tackle, after which Bridgewater rolled over on his stomach and seemed to be unconscious.

SportsCenter confirmed on Twitter that he was being evaluated for a concussion after big hit. There was no penalty on the play, but I would expect Joyner to receive a fine from the NFL.

Let’s hope that Bridgewater, who had 144 yards passing and a rushing touchdown, isn’t hurt too bad and is able to return.
