The dominos from Al Golden’s firing continue to fall at Miami, as Class of 2016 three-star defensive end Joshua Uche has de-committed from the program, per an announcement on his personal Twitter page.
Currently starring at Miami’s Columbus High School, Uche is making a very understandable decision. He committed to Miami on the assumption that he would be playing for Golden, and that is suddenly off the table. Since Golden’s firing, many recruits have seemed upset about it, so Uche has every right to explore his options and make the decision he feels is best for himself and his family.
On top of Miami, Uche was considering Alabama and Florida. Oddly enough, the Alabama coach that recruited him was Mario Cristobal, a Miami native and former Hurricane who could very well be a candidate for the ‘Canes head coaching job.
Campus Sports will update Uche’s recruitment and the Miami coaching search as new information becomes public.
Miami will seek its third win in a row when it visits North Carolina on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
