Clemson/Florida State draws huge TV ratings

The showdown between the undefeated and top-ranked Clemson Tigers and Florida State was easily the most-watched game on television this past Saturday. The game was huge as the winner would win the ACC Atlantic division championship.

The game was so big that the television ratings went through the roof. According to Kevin McGuire of College Football Talk, the ratings were the highest for a 3:30 game on ABC in nearly three years.

ESPN says the Clemson-FSU game was the best overnight rating (5.5) for a 3:30 game on ABC since Nov 24, 2012 (FSU-UF; 5.6).

It’s pretty ironic that the last time the ratings were so high, the Seminoles were in the game. Florida State also lost that game, 37-26.

I guess fans love to tune into games that the Seminoles are supposed to lose.
