Although he finished five strokes behind winner Russell Knox at the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai over the weekend, Jordan Spieth was able to regain his world No. 1 ranking.
Spieth shot a 70 in the final round of the event and overtook an idle Jason Day for the top spot. He had been trailing Day by one-tenth of a point before regaining the no.1 ranking for the fourth time in his career.
Out of the top 25 for the first time in 20 years is Phil Mickelson.
According to GolfChannel.com Mickelson is projected to start the week out of the top 25.
