Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has done a terrific job this year leading the Cowboys to a 9-0 start and a number five ranking in the AP poll. The Cowboys have a chance to win the Big 12 and get into the College Football Playoff.
The team came up from being unranked to start the year and are now looking like one of the best teams in the nation. The Cowboys have now began a campaign for Gundy to be named Coach of the Year.
While there is is still a long way to go for the Cowboys, Gundy has certainly proven that he deserves to win that honor so far. If the Cowboys can beat Baylor and Oklahoma to finish the year undefeated, there is no doubt that Gundy will be a favorite to win.
The Cowboys mustn’t look past the Iowa State Cyclones, though. The Cowboys were 10-0, ranked number two in the country, and were likely on their way to the BCS National Championship game in 2011 before falling to the Cyclones in double overtime.
They will start their path to the CFP this weekend when they play on the road in Aames.
