1. Todd Gurley, Running Back, St. Louis Rams
Obviously Todd Gurley is the top rookie of the season and is going to win the award if he continues playing the way he has to start off his NFL career. Health was a concern early on this year, but he has broken past those issues and is being talked about as the best running back in the NFL.
Gurley has totaled 664 yards and four touchdowns on 118 carries this season and is still improving as the season has moved forward.
At just 21 years old, Gurley has seen his hard work pay off this season. He has reminded quite a few media members of a cross between Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch, but has his own unique style as well. St. Louis made the right choice by taking him with the No. 10 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, despite all of the concern surrounding the torn ACL that he was still recovering from.
There is no doubt that Gurley will be the workhorse for the Rams’ offense for quite a few years to come and that he will continue developing into the top running back ranking in the league.
As of right now, however, he will be happy to settle for winning the Rookie of the Year award.
