Michigan’s Jake Butt named Mackey Award TE of the week

Michigan Wolverine tight end Jake Butt has been performing very well so far this year. He has caught 31 passes for 418 yards and a touchdown this year.

A lot of those yards came against Rutgers last week and Butt was rewarded for it.

After catching four passes for a career-high 102 yards, Butt has been named the Mackey Award Tight End of the Week.

Butt leads all Big Ten tight ends in both receptions and receiving yards this year. With 864 total career yards, Butt is tenth on the all-time list for tight ends at Michigan, needing just 17 more to pass Ron Kramer, as well as being seventh for receptions with 72.

The Wolverines host Indiana on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ABC/ESPN2.
