2016 5-star wing V.J. King makes Louisville official

Despite the alleged scandal surrounding the men’s basketball program, Class of 2016 five-star wing V.J. King has made his commitment to Louisville official in signing his letter of intent to play for the Cardinals.

King posted the announcement on his personal Twitter page.

King joins three-star guard Frankie Hughes in Louisville’s 2016 class thus far.

Currently starring at Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Virginia, part of the Washington D.C. area, King fits perfectly into Louisville’s fast-pace system. He is an aggressive scorer with an excellent mid-range game, and has size for the 3 at 6-foot-7, 180 pounds.

Once he fills out and shows more intensity on the court rather than a laid back attitude, he’s going to be a special talent for the Cardinals.

Louisville opens the season at home against the Southern Conference’s Samford Bulldogs tomorrow night. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
