The USC Trojans have gotten their season back on track and they are right in the middle of the PAC-12 South championship race. They look to bolster their race towards a division title this week as they travel to Boulder to play the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday.
The team will be without one of its fastest players in the game as it was reported that running back Tre Madden will miss the game against the Buffaloes. He has been dealing with a knee injury and it will keep him out of the contest on Friday.
Interim head coach Clay Helton reported that they are looking to keep him out so he can rest up for the Trojans’ important game against the Oregon Ducks next week.
“We decided we’re going to rest him this week, reevaluate next week and it may be a couple-week thing,” Helton told the Los Angeles Times. “We’ll have to see, but at this point in time, we want to get him back 100% healthy.”
Madden had a very good game against Washington, going for 17 carries and 120 yards, but has only had 23 touches in the four games since. Despite that, he is still the PAC-12’s thirteenth-rusher with 418 yards and five touchdowns.
