There hasn’t been a coach in college football that has had a longer tenure at one school than Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer. He has been with the school since 1987 and he finally announced that this would be his last season just a few weeks ago.
Beamer brought a ton of success to the Hokies in his near thirty-year career. He helped them win eight conference championships, three in the Big East, five in the ACC, a national championship game appearance in 2000, and 22 straight bowl appearances dating back to 1993.
The team is now repaying the coach by honoring him in a very special way.
The Hokies revealed some cool helmet stickers depicting Beamer that they will wear for the rest of the season starting tonight against Georgia Tech.
The Hokies are still two wins away from bowl eligibility, but with two of their next three opponents sitting at just 3-6, it is likely they will be playing into December for Beamer’s last year.
