FiveThirtyEight predicts Sooners to win CFP

|

The Oklahoma Sooners have looked very good since their loss to the Texas Longhorns about a month ago. The team has kept winning and their biggest win of the season came on Saturday when they defeated previously-undefeated Baylor, 44-34.

The Sooners are now ranked in the AP top ten for the first time this season and have a very good chance of winning the Big 12 championship. According to FiveThirtyEight, the Sooners may have a much better chance to make the College Football Playoff than people may think.

Oklahoma now has by far the best FPI ranking, and so are favored to win in each of their two remaining games: at home against TCU next Saturday, and on the road against undefeated rival Oklahoma State (who isn’t shabby, either; the Cowboys have a 25 percent shot to make the playoff).

The Sooners haven’t played for a national championship since losing to Florida in the 2008 BCS National Championship game.
