The Green Bay Packers will be without running back Eddie Lacy this week against the Detroit Lions, according to reports.

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy inactive vs. Lions

Eddie Lacy has been struggling in a big way for the Green Bay Packers and actually lost his starting job to James Starks this week against the Detroit Lions. According to a report, Lacy won’t even be active against the Lions as he deals with a groin injury that has bothered him since last week.

Perhaps this will end up being a good thing for both Green Bay and Lacy. He has to figure out a way to get himself back on track and a week off could help him do that. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Starks remain the starter for a few weeks at least as they look to see signs from Lacy as the backup.

Throughout the 2015 NFL season to this point, Lacy has carried the football 83 times for just 308 yards and two touchdowns.

It will be intriguing to see how the ground game performs behind Aaron Rodgers. They need Starks to step up and without a rushing attack their offense would be stressed to put up numbers.

All of that being said, hopefully Lacy can get his career back on track after the disappointing struggles that he has had throughout this season.
