ASU S Jordan Simone’s career over due to injury

Arizona State senior safety and team captain Jordan Simone’s career is officially over due to injury. David Lombardi of ESPN reported the unfortunate news.

A fifth-year senior from the Seattle area, Simone posted 191 tackles (13.5 for a loss) to go with five sacks, four interceptions and a forced fumble. Sun Devils coach Todd Graham addressed Simone’s injury.

“He epitomizes our program,” Graham said. “He’ll still play a large leadership role for us, but my heart goes out to him.”

Simone also posted a message to his teammates on Twitter.

I will never forget running out of Tillman tunnel with my brothers! Thank you all for the of support! pic.twitter.com/p9JBkTQ6gz

Simone will now focus on rehabbing his knee and then, perhaps, the NFL Draft. He is a strong tackler, so he’ll definitely stand a chance of getting selected so long as his rehab goes smoothly.

Campus Sports will update Simone’s recovery as it progresses.
