The switch that many fans have been waiting for his finally been made. After starting two games this season while Josh McCown was dealing with injuries, Johnny Manziel has been named the starter for the Cleveland Browns for the rest of the season.
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer made the announcement Tuesday morning that Manziel will be leading the team for the rest of the year.
The 2014 first round pick has done a decent job this year. He has thrown for 933 yards and five touchdowns with just two interceptions in six games this year.
The Browns are pretty much eliminated from playoff contention at 2-8, so making the switch now won’t make much of a difference. However, having Manziel leading the team will do wonders for the Browns going forward and into the future.
