The Kentucky Wildcats have been a national power ever since John Calipari came to town and it looks like they will continue their dominance for the next few years. The team landed a highly-touted big man for the 2016 season.
According to College Basketball Talk, five-star big man Edrice “Bam” Adebayo committed to Kentucky early Tuesday morning. Adebayo gives Calipari’s group another huge piece to their 2016 class, becoming the fourth five-star player to commit to the Wildcats.
Adebayo is regarded as the seventh overall prospect in the 2016 class and he should provide an immediate boost for the Wildcats when he arrives in Lexington.
This hurts Auburn and NC State as the Wildcats beat them out for Adebayo, especially the Wolfpack since Adebayo’s close friend, Dennis Smith, committed to the Wolfpack about a month ago.
Adebayo averaged 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in the grassoots circuit earlier this year. It is likely that the Wildcats will now contend with Duke for the number one recruiting class next year with this being Calipari’s most talented class in his career with the team.
