The 2015-16 basketball season has just started and we have already had a few upsets and some crazy plays. There are bound to be a ton more buzzer-beater endings throughout the year, but they had to start somewhere.
The first one of the year came from the LIU Brooklyn Black Birds. On Monday night, they were on the road against Loyola (MD) with the score tied at 68 with five seconds left on the clock.
It looked as though the home team would be able to get off the final shot, but a defensive play by Jerome Frink set up one of the craziest endings you will see all year. A long pass by Martin Hermannsson to Joel Hernandez set him up for a ridiculous three-pointer.
Of course, it went in.
What an absolutely awesome ending. The Black Birds are looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Northeastern Conference in 2013 and going 9-20 and 12-18 the last two years.
There will surely be many more to come, but this was a great way to get the crazy endings flowing.
