The Wichita State Shockers have been one of the better mid-major teams in college basketball for the last few seasons. This year should be no different as they were ranked in the Preseason AP Top Ten and they are already off to another hot start.
The Shockers may be using their old mascot as inspiration for this season. The team revealed that they have put the old-school, skirted WuShock logo on their pants this year which hasn’t been used since 1998.
They wore the throwbacks last Friday against Charleston Southern after they were a hit last year against Tulsa as a throwback. The Wichita Eagle shared a picture of the shorts with the retro logo on them.
“We wanted to do something different,” director of operations Dominic Okon said.
The Shockers plan on auctioning the cool uniforms off at the end of the year, which is one reason why the uniforms lack a name on the back of the jerseys.
