The Miami Hurricanes men’s basketball team is starting to establish itself as a strong program in the making and that path continued today when five-star power forward Dewan Huell, who currently stars at Miami Norland High Shool, committed to the program.
Huell’s decision was reported by Scott Phillips of NBC Sports’ College Basketball Talk.
Huell stands 6-foot-9 and weighs 230 pounds, already great size for his position, and was also weighing offers from South Florida, Mississippi State, Florida State and South Carolina.
Instead, he’ll head to Coral Gables and play in coach Jim Larranaga’s fast-paced and aggressive system. He joins four-star guard Bruce Brown, who committed today as well, and four-star big man Rodney Miller.
Needless to say, The U could soon be reestablishing itself on the basketball court on a more consistent basis now that Huell is aboard.
