Charlie Strong has been trying to turn the Texas Longhorns’ football program around, but it hasn’t been going very smoothly thus far. His name has continually been coming up in coaching rumors throughout this season, although the Miami Hurricanes job has been the most mentioned destination for him.
According to reports, Strong is becoming growingly “irritated” with all of the rumors the media is tossing around about him heading to Miami.

He has been rumored to have interest in the job and some have gone so far to say that he has discussed the job this year. That doesn’t appear to be the case at this stage of the season.

Strong has been very vocal about his belief that the Longhorns are the best head coaching job in the nation. They certainly have one of the richest traditions and it is just a matter of time before he gets them back on track. In the meantime, he will have to deal with the continued frustration from the fan base.
If you take him at his word, expect to see him remain with the Longhorns throughout next season. However, if things don’t change in Texas he could decide to move on at some point in the future. Or, you know, he could just be talking like a coach and he may just want that chatter to stop.
