MSU’s Denzel Valentine received call from Magic Johnson

Denzel Valentine and the Michigan State Spartans were able to get their season off to a big start last night with a 79-73 victory over No. 4 Kansas. Valentine put up huge numbers to lead the way and ended the game with a triple-double.

Magic Johnson liked the way Valentine played so much that he tweeted out praise to him and also called him.

Receiving that kind of praise from a basketball legend has to be an exciting and amazing experience.

Valentine is going to be asked to come through with massive games for the Spartans the entire season. He is certainly ready for the increased role and Tom Izzo is very comfortable with his guard being asked to handle such a heavy workload.

Coming into his senior season, everyone knew that Valentine would take a big leap forward. He is trying his best to grab the attention of NBA scouts and prove that he belongs at the next level. Obviously, he took full advantage of his opportunity to do just that last night in a nationally televised game and leading his team to victory will give his stock a huge jump.
