NFL scout on ‘Bama’s D-line: 3 potential first-rounders

The Alabama Crimson Tide is very good this year. They have one of the best running backs in Derrick Henry, but they are so good because they have road the coattails of what they have always prided themselves on: their defense.

The best part about the Tide’s defense this year is their front seven, namely the defensive line. They have three guys that could go in the first round of the NFL Draft next April in A’Shawn Robinson, Jonathan Allen, and Jarran Reed, with the former two just being juniors.

According to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, one NFL scout is very impressed with the Alabama defensive line right now. Not only do those three stick out, but they have three other guys that can come in and produce at any point of the game.

“I’ve never seen one team as loaded from seniors to freshmen as this team is,” he said. “It’s amazing. They’re all huge and they all can move really well.”

This year, the Crimson Tide have recorded 38 sacks, more than what the teams have recorded in any season the last eight years. They have also only allowed 212 yards per game this year, almost 100 yards better than last year.

The Crimson Tide are likely going to win the SEC this year and get back to the College Football Playoff. They host the 9-1 FCS powerhouse Charleston Southern this weekend, but it shouldn’t much of a problem for them.

They have the defensive line to thank for that.
