Nick Saban goes on rant about FCS teams being an off week

Throughout certain points of the season, big teams will have FCS teams scheduled to give them a bit of a break from their brutal conference schedules. A lot of teams in the top ten are doing that this week and the Alabama Crimson Tide is one of them.

The Tide host Charleston Southern this week and many would believe that they are going to roll right through the FCS team. Head coach Nick Saban was asked about their game being considered an off week by many and that got him pretty upset.

He went on an epic, profanity-laden rant about FCS teams not being considered real games. He talked about Georgia Southern, then in the FCS’s Southern Conference, kept up with the Crimson Tide for most of the game in 2011 when they were only down 24-14 at the half and racked up 350 yards on the ground.

You can listen to the entire rant in the video below.

To be clear, the Buccaneers are certainly no pushover. They are 9-1 with their only loss coming against Troy in the early stages of the season, average 230 yards rushing per game while only giving 101 yards per game and they are ranked number 9 in the FCS STATS Top 25.
