David Ortiz requested his locker be reserved for Torii Hunter Jr.

Being someone with connections has its perks. Being someone whose connection is that your dad is a borderline baseball Hall of Famer is one of the best perks of all and, if you don’t believe me, just as Notre Dame junior wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr.

Notre Dame takes on Boston College at Fenway Park tomorrow, home of the Boston Red Sox, and one Red Sox legend asked specifically that his locker be reserved for the younger Hunter.

That legend is David Ortiz, and news of his request hit social media.

The elder Hunter also posted about the sweet gesture on his Instagram.

It just goes to show that whether you love or hate him as a player, Ortiz is one of the biggest class acts in the game today. He and Torii Hunter haven’t been teammates since Ortiz’s last year with the Twins in 2002, and he was still nice enough to let his old friend’s son use his locker for the weekend.

Needless to say, given this, don’t be surprised if Ortiz and Hunter Sr. are in the stands enjoying the game together tomorrow night.

Kickoff at Fenway is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
