Banner advocating Butch Davis flies over Miami

Over a month ago, banners advocating the firing of Al Golden could be seen flying over Miami. It seemed to have worked as the Miami Hurricanes let Golden go just weeks later.

There has been a question of who would be taking over the head coaching position for the Hurricanes the last few weeks, but we now know who the fans want. According to ESPN, there was a banner flying over Miami advocating former coach Butch Davis, despite rumors that Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal will likely be the coach.

Apparently, one person closely connected Miami could be heard questioning why someone would want to coach the Hurricanes after seeing the banner.

One person connected with the program, looking up at the banners: "Who would come here?"

After seeing the fickleness of fans and the terrible attendance over the last few years, that question is probably warranted. Don’t be surprised if Davis is considered a major candidate over the next few weeks, however.

What do you think, Miami fans? Do you want to see Cristobal in or does Davis deserve a second chance?
