Connor Cook throwing, ‘game-time decision’ today

Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook is throwing ahead of kickoff today, but is still a game-time decision for Ohio State. ESPN’s Joe Schad reported the update on Twitter, via Spartans coach Mark Dantonio.

Off the bus, Mark Dantonio told me QB Connor Cook is a “game-time decision” and “everybody has nicks and bruises this time of the year.”

There has been speculation on Cook’s status all week due to his suffering an injury to his throwing shoulder against Maryland last weekend, one that forced him out of the game. Backup Tyler O’Connor held his own as Michigan State won 24-7, but he’s still not on the same level as Cook.

That said, Cook has insisted that he’ll be good to go all week long and there is little to suggest that he’ll sit out such an important game even if he isn’t 100 percent. So long as his arm works in some capacity, count on him being under center this afternoon.

Kickoff in Columbus is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
