UNI honors UNC’s Marcus Paige before his ‘homecoming’

North Carolina Tar Heels senior guard Marcus Paige had to miss his “homecoming game” against Northern Iowa on Saturday, thanks to a fractured bone in his right hand.

Paige has been forced to miss some time because of the injury, but that didn’t stop him from joining his team as he returned to his home state and head coach Roy Williams allowed the senior to dress in UNC’s away uniform while lightly going through warmups.

Then, when Paige stepped out onto the court, the Marion, Iowa native was given recognition from the arena announcer and he was given a great welcoming from the crowd.

Check it out:

While it had to be tough for Paige not to play in the game, he has to feel great that he was honored in some way.

It was a classy gesture from all parties involved.
