Battle at Bristol has title sponsor and TV deal

2015 may not be over, but that never stopped anyone from getting to work on the future, did it? Giving a new look to the early season, neutral site games will be Virginia Tech taking on Tennessee on the infield of Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 10, 2016.

With the game expected to draw around 150,000 spectators, a title sponsor for the game hasn’t been difficult to find.

Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers and travel plazas in North America, will serve as the sponsor for the Battle at Bristol, according to Forbes.

ESPN announced it will broadcast the game, either on one of its networks or ABC.

According to a report by USA Today, both Virginia Tech and Tennessee could make as much as $4.3 million by playing in the game if all tickets are sold.

Virginia Tech and Tennessee are 5-6 and 7-3 so far this year, respectively.
