ODU offers free tickets to community college to maintain sellout streak

-

The Old Dominion Monarchs have one of the more unique streaks in college football. The team is 5-6, so it certainly isn’t a winning streak, but it is one that could be even more important than that.

The Monarchs have sold out 47 straight games at Foreman Field and they are going to great lengths to make sure that stays intact. According to The Virginian-Pilot, they are offering free tickets to nearly 40,000 students at Tidewater Community College, a nearby school, to keep their streak intact.

The Monarchs are a game away from bowl eligibility and with a win over Florida Atlantic, they would secure a bowl berth in their first year of bowl eligibility. The team has sold out 47 straight games at their 20,118-seat stadium.

The game on Saturday kicks off at 12 p.m. EST on Saturday.
