Video: Frank Beamer gets final VT gatorade shower

Frank Beamer coached his final regular season game today against the Virginia Cavaliers and the Virginia Tech Hokies were able to pull out a huge 23-20 victory for him.

It is the end of an era at Virginia Tech, as Beamer has been their head coach since 1987. He was one of the longest tenured head coaches in the nation and it’s sad to see him leaving. The Hokies are going to have a hard time replacing him, but it’s good to see him go out with a huge rivalry win.

Beamer is going to get the opportunity to coach one more bowl game before hanging up the clipboard for the final time.

Virginia Tech finished the season at 6-6 and just barely qualified for a bowl game with their win today. There is no sweeter way for Beamer to finish his career than going out with a bowl game thanks to a big win over their arch rival.

After the game, the Hokies gave Beamer one final gatorade shower and it was an awesome moment that was captured. Take a look at the video for yourself and join us in saying goodbye to a coaching legend.
