Larry Fedora thinks Tar Heels will be deserving of CFP spot if they beat Clemson

The North Carolina Tar Heels have had a magnificent season. They opened the season with a loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks in Charlotte and right now, their season is coming to a head in the same stadium they opened the season in.

The Tar Heels will play Clemson on Saturday for the ACC championship

. The team has won eleven straight games in dominating fashion since that loss to the Gamecocks and won the ACC Coastal Division for the first time in team history.

Despite the team being 11-1, they have yet to be ranked inside the top ten this year. They may sneak in in Tuesday’s rankings, but they will need a big win on Saturday if they want a shot at the College Football Playoff.

North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora believes that his team would be deserving of that spot if they upset the undefeated Tigers.

UNC coach Larry Fedora on the playoff: “If we beat the consensus No. 1 team in the country, yes, I believe our team is deserving.”

I have been saying this for the last few weeks. If the Tar Heels win on Saturday, they deserve to be in the CFP, end of story.
