Report: Memphis offers Missouri DC Barry Odom HC job

With the news that Memphis head coach Justin Fuente has been hired to succeed Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech, the Tigers have already begun looking for their next guy. It looks like they might be headed in a completely different direction with their new head guy.

According to FootballScoop, the Tigers have offered their head coaching position to Missouri’s defensive coordinator Barry Odom. The site reported that Memphis newspaper the Commercial Appeal says that Odom is among a list of names offered the job and they will begin interviewing as early as Monday.

Odom was the defensive coordinator for Memphis from 2012-2014 before leaving for Missouri last December. Odom would have big shoes to fill as Fuente has led the Tigers to nine wins in two straight seasons and they have a chance to get to ten wins once again with a win in their bowl game.
