Rice senior Luke Turner broke down and thanked coach

Luke Turner, a senior running back for the Rice Owls, played his final game of his college football career this past week against Charlotte. Rice was able to get the job done and ended up winning the game 27-7.

It is always emotional for a player to play his last game, which was the case for Turner this week.

Following Rice’s big win over Charlotte, Turner broke down and thanked his coach repeatedly for never giving up on him. He also thanked the university for giving him his education and sticking by him.

“I love this university and I love that man back there and I’ll do anything for him,” said Turner.

During his senior year as a state championship winning quarterback, Turner broke his leg. Teams began pulling their offers to him, but Rice didn’t make that same decision.
