In the fourth quarter of Sunday Night Football between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, one of the top players in the NFL went down with what appeared to be a scary knee injury.
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski took a hit to his right knee before it was planted on the ground and immediately showed signs of obvious pain.
Gronkowski rolled around on the turf before the training staff attended to his injury.
Ultimately, Gronkowski was carted off the field and put no weight on his right knee — which is the same knee he previously suffered a torn ACL and MCL in.
A closer look at the injury showed the torque and ugly angle in which Gronkowski’s knee bent.
Gronkowski was immediately taken to the locker room for x-rays and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. Campus Sports will update you with more information as it becomes available.
