TCU OC Doug Meacham expected to be next North Texas HC

The North Texas Mean Green have not had a ton of success the last few seasons. The team has had only one winning season since 2011 when they went 9-4 and won the Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2013. This year, the team started off 0-5 and a loss in the regular season finale to Portland State cost head coach Dan McCarney his job.

The team certainly needs a boost to their offense and they may just be getting it with their rumored head coach.

According to a report by Texas Sports Insider, TCU co-offensive coordinator Doug Meacham is expected to be announced as the team’s next head coach.

Meacham was hired on at TCU this year after serving a season at Houston as the offensive coordinator. The Horned Frogs’ offense has been one of the deadliest in the Big 12 this year and since the Mean Green already use an Air Raid offense, Meacham could be the perfect fit for them.
