The USC Trojans have announced that Clay Helton will remain the head coach for the school long-term. Cody Kessler will not be back for the Trojans next season, but he commented on Helton sticking on as the head coach and gave his thoughts about him.
Those comments are glowing praise for Helton and shows that Kessler is a big fan of the move. Unfortunately, there is no way for Kessler to return to school and play under Helton for one more season.
During his senior season this past year, Kessler ended up completing 68.4 percent of his passes for 3,128 yards, 27 touchdowns and six interceptions. USC is going to miss his production under center.
There is no question that Helton is going to be a good long-term fit for the school. He has the type of leadership qualities that can help get USC back to dominance. They have a ways to go, but he is the type of coach that can get them to that point.
