If you are a fan of the Miami Hurricanes, it is an exciting time for your program. The university is beginning to ramp up their search for a new head coach and there are plenty of interesting, big name candidates for the job.
According to a report from FOX Sports, the Hurricanes have already interviewed former Miami head coach Butch Davis and former Rutgers/Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano.
There have also been reports that Georgia Bulldogs coach Mark Richt could soon be interviewed for the job.
Miami is widely regarded as one of the top head coaching vacancies in the nation, but there was previously some concern that the university would not be able to ante up and offer candidates a significant enough salary to compete with the other schools.
That doesn’t appear to be the case anymore, however.
According to the FOX Sports report, there is now a belief that Miami could pay upwards of $4 million per year to their next head coach. That certainly makes the job even more appealing to potential candidates.
Schiano currently seems to hold the most favor from the higher-ups at Miami, but don’t sleep on Richt or even Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen, if he decides to interview for the job once again.
