Vernon Adams transferred to the Oregon Ducks this season for his final year of college football. It was a move that many thought would help power the Ducks back into playoff contention. That wasn’t the case, but he was able to end up having a solid all-around season when everything was said and done.
Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost was a big part of the Ducks’ success later in the season. After a slow start, he was able to build an offense that was capable of putting points up on the board in bunches.
Frost was named the new UCF football head coach and Adams took a moment to post a touching note to his soon-to-be former offensive coordinator.
Congrats to My QB Coach/Offensive Coordinator on earning the Head Coaching job at #UCF . I want to thank you on taking a chance on me and believing in me to come in and compete. UCF fans, yall are getting a great coach and an even better Christian, God fearing man! Thank you & God bless you dawg! @coach_frost
Looking ahead, there is no doubt that Frost is on the fast track to a bigger head coaching job in the next four or five years. He will install his dynamic offense at UCF and will bring in recruits that fit his offense perfectly.
Frost may not turn UCF into a seriously playoff contender, but it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him have some good success with them.
All of that being said, this was a classy move by Adams and it shows just how thankful he truly was to play for a prestigious program like Oregon.
