Big Ten players account for half of Lott IMPACT finalists

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced the finalists for the 12th annual Lott IMPACT Trophy on Wednesday.

For the Big Ten, the conference has a 50 percent chance of seeing a player representative take home the hardware. Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib and Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry are the two Big Ten nominees.

Duke safety Jeremy Cash and Temple linebacker Tyler Matakevich are the other two finalists for the award.

All finalists are the first representatives from their respective schools.

The award is in honor of Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott. The term IMPACT is used to describe the following qualities in all candidates: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. The award will be given out on December 13th.
