Former UGA star Hines Ward ‘intrigued’ by idea of coaching under Kirby Smart

Former Georgia do-it-all guy Hines Ward is arguably one of the greatest players in Bulldog history. During his time in Athens, he totaled 3,870 all-purpose yards, a mark second behind only Herschel Walker.

Late Tuesday night, it was announced that Kirby Smart was set to become the new head coach of the Bulldogs. Ward joined ESPN’s Paul Finebaum on his show Wednesday and was asked about the possibility of coaching the Bulldogs in the future and his answer might elate some of the Georgia fan base.

"That's something I would be intrigued with if he gave me a call" – Hines Ward on a possible return to UGA as assistant under Kirby Smart

Ward was recruited as a wide receiver for the Bulldogs, but also played running back and quarterback during his time in Athens. He holds the Georgia bowl record for pass yards, attempts, and completions, set in the 1995 Peach Bowl.

What do you think, Georgia fans? Would you like to see Ward join Smart’s staff?
