Kansas State to be given bowl invitation despite record

The Kansas State Wildcats are one of three teams that are one win away from bowl eligibility that has a game this weekend. The Wildcats are 5-6 and face off against the West Virginia Mountaineers this weekend.

According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, the Wildcats will join the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a 5-7 team to be invited to a bowl game this year. Of course, the Wildcats could still win this weekend and be automatically no matter what.

Missouri was one of the 5-7 teams that would have gotten a bowl bid, but they already declined an invitation. Illinois has said they would accept one if invited, while Minnesota, San Jose State, and Rice are in the running for a bowl bid as well.
