The University of Miami’s football program was truly in shambles. Former head coach Al Golden was not getting the job done, and the program was on the search for a leader that could have an impact and bring them back to the national power that they were.
The folks in Coral Gables may have found their guy, as long time former Georgia head coach Mark Richt is reportedly the new guy at the helm.
The report of Richt to Miami was reporte, and those around the media quickly reacted. One of the iconic minds of college football took his thoughts to social media. Paul Finebaum of ESPN’s SEC Network tweeted that “The U is relevant again” in this tweet.
It is certainly known around college football how much of an impact Mark Richt can have on a group of players. For a program in turmoil and where their players may have the wrong mindset, Richt can use his expertise and shape a team morally in order for success both on and off of the field.
Along with Richt’s values, he is also a top recruiter.
As the Miami area is a hotbed for recruiting, Richt will bring top talent to the program and hopefully bring long lasting success.
