Ohio State defensive coordinator Chris Ash is generating lots of interest with teams looking for new head coaches, Syracuse and Rutgers in particular, according to FOX Sports.
Ash, 41, has spent the last two seasons on Urban Meyer’s staff, previously coaching at Arkansas. Ohio State’s defense has improved greatly under his watch, and it helps that three other former Meyer assistants are head coaches somewhere in college football.
Rutgers fired Kyle Flood recently after he went 27-24 over four seasons.
Scott Shafer was dismissed after three seasons and a 14-23 record.
